Several Groups exist to share the enjoyment of Reading Books, poetry and Plays.

Reading Group

This group meets on the Thursday after the main U3A meeting in either Kemberton or Shifnal. The next book we shall be reading will be “The Island” by Victoria Hislop. Audrey Atkinson

Prose & Poetry Group

The poetry group meets on the last Monday of each month at a different venue each time. We all enjoy reading and listening to poetry. For each monthly meeting we have a different theme for which we attempt to find relevant poems or prose with past subjects being Women and Poet Laureates. Betty Barnes

Play Reading

This group meets on the third Monday of each month at the organiser’s home. Two of our members kindly provide the plays, lent by a local library, so it is always a surprise to see what they bring along each time. Betty Barnes

Interest Groups Times and Contacts

Garden History Group
Our aim is to learn more about the gardens of the past, ranging from the very early Roman times to the present day, We do this by discussions, research and garden visits. We found much of interest in the gardens of the Victorian period, which then led us on to look at botanic gardens and arboreta in general. Our present topic is Capability Brown and gardens of the eighteenth century.
